For this story, I researched angels and demons (and their names and powers), Roman history, Irish history, the sinking of the Titanic, Mayan history, Casanova, Napoleon, and quite a few other odd and seemingly-unconnected things. I actually had fun doing that, though. I know this story doesn't fit in Silver Griffin, but I just finished outlining the sequel to Witches, so that's something to fall back on.

No, I haven't seen or heard anything from Samantha in a while. I know she had a lot going on, so I hope everything works out for her.Tamara Morninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04696611858111525401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2176152370615116142.post-56908615316273756162008-10-31T21:15:00.000-04:002008-10-31T21:15:00.000-04:00So you haven't heard from Samantha in a while? Mine's going to be a YA/Science Fiction story. Who knows, maybe I'll bring this new story back to Silver Griffin. (not sure if it fits within the boundaries of the crit circle.)

What do you mean when you say Urban Fantasy is a lot of work?D. Robert Peasehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15767102761946467095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2176152370615116142.post-81476143919902633692008-10-31T20:46:00.000-04:002008-10-31T20:46:00.000-04:00You know, I'm really embarrassed to admit this, bu...You know, I'm really embarrassed to admit this, but I just now saw this message (a month alter. I know. It's sad.) I have no excuse. It IS a lot of work critting other people's chapters, but I have honestly learned just as much from those crits as from the ones I receive, and I know I need all the help I can get. I've done a little bit of beta reading, and it does make a difference to read the whole thing instead of just a chapter at at ime.

I'm ready for NaNo, and it starts in about, oh...4 hours now. I'm trying something new this time, urban fantasy. It's a lot of work, but I enjoy it.

As far as I know, everyone's still on Silver Griffin, although Stuart, Ellsea, and I are the only ones who've posted lately. We're hoping to get it stirred back into some kind of life. You should give it a shot again. We miss you.witchofbreithlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12376853333742588353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2176152370615116142.post-74065205831043183792008-10-04T11:44:00.000-04:002008-10-04T11:44:00.000-04:00I hadn't received any update notices and thought m...I hadn't received any update notices and thought maybe Silver Griffin was dead. So a month or so ago I took a look and saw that some of you were still there. I'd love to come back, but I'm just not sure I have the energy. It is so much work to crit 4 or 5 people's work for one crit of mine. I haven't felt the healthiest this past year, and it has been really hard to get myself to write. I did pick up on the editing again over the past month. I've been concentrating on getting the manuscript polished, then I want to find some beta readers to read the whole thing, instead of doing a chapter at a time.

As for NaNo, last night I was just talking to one of my son's friends who aspires to be an author. She is thinking about doing NaNo. I might try, just to get her involved. But man, that is a lot of writing.

How are things on your end? How many people are active on the Silver Griffin? Is Samantha still around?D.
